Solo build of Istio version 1.29.4-patch0 patch release.
This release note describes what’s different between Solo builds of Istio versions 1.29.4 and 1.29.4-patch0.
General Changes

  • Built against upstream Istio commit d5e1b4391d937ec682eac3d24ea9f203ef7bbdc3. Compare.
  • Fixed an issue where ambient-enrolled pods could be dropped from the host istio-inpod-probes-v4 ipset after a node or kubelet restart, causing kubelet health probes to be rejected by ztunnel until istio-cni restarted. The node agent now re-asserts probe ipset membership for enrolled pods during reconciliation.
Solo Flavor Changes

  • Fixed the extra long shutdown window (60s). It is now much faster (~5s).
  • Fixed the documentation link in istioctl multicluster check --help to point to
docs.solo.io/istio/ instead of the outdated docs.solo.io/gloo-mesh/ path.
