Solo build of Istio version 1.30.4-patch1 patch release.
This release note describes what’s different between Solo builds of Istio versions 1.30.4-patch0 and 1.30.4-patch1.
General Changes

  • Built against upstream Istio commit 799d3580c2d183c5183e74531381b27c497617e7. Compare.
  • Fixed an issue where Envoy proxies subscribed to Workload metadata discovery (MDS) did not
receive incremental workload updates for Address-only changes when
AMBIENT_SCOPED_ADDRESS_PUSHES was enabled (the default).
  • Fixed ListenerSet status reporting so that a ListenerSet with no valid listeners now
reports the Accepted and Programmed conditions as False with reason ListenersNotValid.
Previously the ListenerSet-level conditions could remain True even when none of its listeners
were usable.
  • Fixed observedGeneration getting stuck on a stale value when a resource is modified again
while an earlier status write is still queued.
Solo Flavor Changes

  • Fixed ztunnel closing pooled HBONE connections with GOAWAY ENHANCE_YOUR_CALM under chatty
TCP traffic by pinning the h2 crate to 0.4.15.
  • Fixed an issue where Envoy proxies subscribed to Workload metadata discovery (HBONE
sidecars and ambient gateways) received a full endpoint (EDS) rebuild on every workload
or WorkloadEntry change
